Biosecurity is extremely important at Elm Creek Polypay. Our bout with Johnes taught us a real lesson about introducing new ewes into the flock. Our flock has been entirely closed for years, except for the introduction of new rams--which is a necessary evil for flocks under 250 head.

We believe our flock to be Johnes-free, Scrapie-free, and OPP-free.  These beliefs are based upon our Johnes eradication research project participation, our Voluntary Scrapie Program Scrapie Free-Certification, and OPP AGID blood testing on all ewes and rams.

We always welcome visitors to Elm Creek Polypay. However, we would ask that you wear clean shoes, or wear plastic boot covers--which we have on-site.
